About The Festival

The biggest festival of its kind in the UK, the Gloucester Cajun & Zydeco Festival brings the best bands and musicians from around the world to the city for a weekend of non-stop partying, music, dancing, workshops, authentic Cajun cuisine and an atmosphere that’s become legendary on the international Cajun & Zydeco scene.

Now in its eighteenth year, the festival was founded by Pat Roberts and Louis Hawkins back in 1993, inspired by a love of Cajun music and a fascination surrounding Cajun dance. From its humble beginnings as a one-day event, it is now regarded as one of the best around, with enthusiasts flocking to Gloucester from all over the world.

Delivering an unrivaled mix of music and dance rooted in the traditions of America’s Deep South it’s hot and steamy entertainment for a miserable January.
